Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before reaching out.
What kinds of companies do you work with?
I work exclusively in two areas: family-focused companies and mission-driven practices. On the company side, that’s FamTech and AgeTech — products and services built for families, parents, caregivers, and older adults. On the practice side, that’s therapy and professional support practices: private practice therapists, group practices, psychologists, and counselors. What they have in common is that they’re building trust with families during high-stakes moments, and marketing that work requires a different approach than most agencies or generalist consultants bring.
I’m not sure if I’m the right fit — can you still help?
Probably. If your work is meaningfully connected to families, parents, caregivers, or older adults — or if you run a therapy or professional support practice — there’s a good chance I can help. Even if you’re not sure you fit neatly into either category, the best way to find out is a short conversation. Book a free call and we’ll figure it out together.
Do you only work with tech companies?
No. I work with both tech companies and practices. On the company side, I work with SaaS platforms, service businesses, consumer products, and B2B solutions. I also work directly with therapy and counseling practices, which aren’t tech companies at all. What matters is the audience — families, parents, caregivers, and older adults — not the business model.
What is a Fractional CMO?
A Fractional CMO is a senior marketing leader who works with your company on a part-time or retainer basis — giving you the strategic leadership of a full-time CMO without the cost of a full-time hire. I own your marketing strategy, provide direction to your team, and stay accountable to results. It’s not consulting from a distance. It’s real leadership embedded in your business.
What does a Fractional CMO actually do day-to-day?
It depends on your stage and needs, but typically: setting marketing strategy and priorities, owning positioning and messaging, directing execution (either through your team or external vendors), tracking performance, and reporting to leadership. I’m the person who makes sure marketing is moving in the right direction — not just generating activity, but driving outcomes tied to business goals.
How is the Fractional CMO Engagement structured?
The Fractional CMO Engagement is custom-scoped to what your company actually needs right now. I join your team as your embedded marketing leader — owning strategy, execution oversight, vendor management, channel performance, and accountability for growth. The level of involvement, the hours, and how hands-on I am with execution can all be tailored.
How do Fractional CMO engagements work?
We start with a structured onboarding — usually the first 2–4 weeks — where I get to know your team, assess your current marketing, and build a prioritized plan before we start executing. From there, I work with you on a regular cadence: typically weekly or biweekly check-ins, strategic planning, and ongoing execution oversight. There’s an initial 3-month commitment, then month-to-month from there.
What if I don’t have a marketing team?
That’s common, and it’s not a problem. Part of what I do is build and manage the marketing infrastructure — including identifying and vetting freelancers, agencies, and contractors who can execute. You don’t need a team in place before we start. I can help you build one as part of the engagement.
I already have a marketing team — can you still help?
Yes. I often work with companies that already have a team but need clearer direction, better prioritization, or more senior leadership. My role is to make your team more effective — not replace them.
What if I just need help with one specific challenge?
That’s what the Marketing Clarity Session is designed for. It’s a focused, half-day working session built around one specific question — positioning, messaging, channel strategy, launch planning, or anything else that’s blocking progress. You walk away with a clear recommendation and an action plan.
What’s the difference between a Marketing Clarity Session and a Strategy Sprint?
A Marketing Clarity Session is focused on one specific question or challenge — you get a clear answer and action plan, typically within a week. A Strategy Sprint is a deeper, multi-week engagement where I audit your marketing, assess your competitive landscape, and deliver a comprehensive strategy with positioning, messaging, channel priorities, a 90-day roadmap, and budget recommendations.
What if I’m not sure which service I need?
That’s completely normal. You don’t need to figure that out on your own. I’ll talk through what you’re trying to solve and we’ll figure out together whether a Marketing Clarity Session, Strategy Sprint, or Fractional CMO Engagement makes the most sense for where you are.
What if I’m not sure this is the right fit or the right time?
That’s okay. A short conversation is usually enough to figure that out. If it’s not a good fit or the timing isn’t right, I’ll be honest and tell you. The goal is clarity, not pressure.
How do we get started?
We start with a short conversation about your business and what you’re trying to solve. From there, we figure out together which engagement makes the most sense. No pressure — just a clear next step.
