Frequently asked questions.
Everything you might want to know before reaching out.
What kinds of companies do you work with?
I work exclusively with FamTech companies — the brands, platforms, and services built for families, parents, and caregivers. That includes health and wellness companies, parenting and education platforms, caregiving services, family finance tools, and benefit providers that serve working parents. If your product or service is designed to support families at any life stage, you’re likely a good fit.
I’m not sure if my company counts as FamTech. Can you still help?
Probably. The best way to find out is to have a conversation. If your product or service is meaningfully connected to families, parents, or caregivers — even if you don’t use the FamTech label — there’s a good chance I can help. Book a free call and we’ll figure it out together.
Do you only work with tech companies?
No. FamTech is broader than software. I work with companies across the spectrum — SaaS platforms, service businesses, consumer products, and B2B solutions — as long as families and caregivers are central to what you do.
What is a Fractional CMO?
A Fractional CMO is a senior marketing leader who works with your company on a part-time or retainer basis — giving you the strategic leadership of a full-time CMO without the cost of a full-time hire. I own your marketing strategy, provide direction to your team, and stay accountable to results. It’s not consulting from a distance. It’s real leadership embedded in your business.
What does a Fractional CMO actually do day-to-day?
It depends on your stage and needs, but typically: setting marketing strategy and priorities, owning positioning and messaging, directing execution (either through your team or external vendors), tracking performance, and reporting to leadership. I’m the person who makes sure marketing is moving in the right direction — not just generating activity, but driving outcomes tied to business goals.
You offer two Fractional CMO tiers. What’s the difference?
The Strategic Partnership is designed for companies that already have execution capability and need senior strategic direction. The Full Fractional CMO engagement is a more hands-on, embedded model where I own the full marketing function — strategy, execution oversight, vendor management, and team leadership. The right fit depends on how much internal capacity you already have and how much ownership you need me to take.
How do Fractional CMO engagements work?
We start with a structured onboarding to understand your business, goals, audience, and current marketing situation. From there, I work with you on a regular cadence — typically weekly check-ins, strategic planning sessions, and ongoing execution oversight. Engagements run on a monthly retainer and are structured around outcomes, not hours.
What if I don’t have a marketing team?
That’s common, and it’s not a problem. Part of what I do is build and manage the marketing infrastructure — including identifying and vetting freelancers, agencies, and contractors who can execute. You don’t need a team in place before we start. I can help you build one as part of the engagement.
I already have a marketing team. Can you still help?
Yes. I often work with companies that already have a team but need clearer direction, better prioritization, or more senior leadership. My role is to make your team more effective — not replace them.
What if I just need help with one specific challenge?
That’s what the Marketing Clarity Session is designed for. It’s a focused, half-day working session built around one specific question — positioning, messaging, channel strategy, launch planning, or anything else that’s blocking progress. You walk away with a clear recommendation and an action plan.
What’s the difference between a Marketing Clarity Session and a Strategy Sprint?
A Marketing Clarity Session is focused on one specific question or challenge — you get a clear answer and action plan, typically within a week. A Strategy Sprint is a deeper, multi-week engagement where I audit your marketing, assess your competitive landscape, and deliver a comprehensive strategy with positioning, messaging, channel priorities, a 90-day roadmap, and budget recommendations.
What if I’m not sure which service I need?
That’s completely normal. You don’t need to figure that out on your own. We’ll talk through what you’re trying to solve and figure out together whether a Marketing Clarity Session, Strategy Sprint, Strategic Partnership, or Full Fractional CMO engagement makes the most sense.
What if I’m not sure this is the right fit or the right time?
That’s okay. A short conversation is usually enough to figure that out. If it’s not a good fit or the timing isn’t right, I’ll be honest and tell you. The goal is clarity, not pressure.
How do we get started?
We start with a short conversation about your business and what you’re trying to solve. From there, we figure out together which engagement makes the most sense. No pressure — just a clear next step.
